Joshua Robertson

Joshua Robertson is a stand-up comedian, writer and actor who had a severe quad bike crash when he was 11 years old. He spent 4 months in a coma and now lives with a physical disability. He now mines this adversity for laughs!

Started stand-up comedy at 19 he’s now performed around the world and across the UK including shows at the Brighton Fringe, Camden Fringe and the Adelaide Fringe Festival and tours support for Tom Stade and Shappi Khorsandi.

Joshua featured in the BBC Three series, Amazing Humans, and the All4 series, Jokes Only Disabled People Can Tell. DAD JOKE, a comedy short film which Joshua co-wrote with David Abramsky and stars in, was commissioned by the BFI NETWORK and Film London. It premiered at the BFI London Film Festival. Loosely based on Joshua’s life, it follows a disabled comedian performing a make-or-break gig on the night his first child is born. Joshua was awarded Best Lead Actor for DAD JOKE at the Oxford International Short Film Festival. DAD JOKE, which is being produced by Eleven Film in association with Bluebird Pictures, was named on The Brit List in 2022.
