Steve Harris

Steve Harris first leapt on stage back in August 1998 and it took not one, or two but three attempts at performing his first gig at XSMalarkey (then Scruffy Murphy’s) in Fallowfield before he actually conjured up the bottle to get on stage. Who could have guessed that within three short months Steve would blast his way to wining the coveted North-West Comedian of the Year award after just five gigs. Not bad when you consider that other winner include Peter Kay, Johnny Vegas, Jason Manford and John Bishop. He then also became a finalist of the BBC new comedy awards and Channel 4’s “So you think you’re funny” in the same year.

Soon Steve was out on tour with the likes of Johnny Vegas, Peter Kay and Lee Evans so Steve comes highly recommended from the heavyweights of TV comedy. He’s gone on to headline all of the top comedy clubs in the UK plus venues as far flung as Hong Kong and Australia. Steve is also universally admired and respected, even loved by his fellow comics as he brings joy, light and laughter to any room he enters. Warm natured in bucketloads his comedic ability comes from a mind absolutely ready for anything you can throw at him, sorting out heckles with ease and keep audiences of all kinds laughing and entertained. Seeing the self-assured pro gagster he is now, it’s hard to believe that Steve Harris’ stand up career very nearly didn’t happen.

Frankly you wont find a comedian with more assured stage presence – he’s absolute power house of proletariat confidence. In other words he’s like the bloke next door but really, really funny!

‘Fancy dancing, quick one-liners and a whole lot of charisma’ Daily Post

‘Quite simply, fantastically funny’ BBC

‘He’s caustic and witty, a good all-rounder” The Guardian

“I couldn’t lift my hands to wipe the tears of laughter from my face” Chortle
